English 10: Creative Writing and Composition
LAST UPDATED: Friday, May 6th
Brief Course OverviewEnglish 10 is offered as a hybrid class designed to meet the curriculum objectives for both English 10 Creative Writing and English 10 Composition. This means that our course is designed to provide students with both a set of skills vital to success in an increasingly complicated, media-rich world as well as building competency and confidence in all things literacy and communication.
In addition, this class is designed to strengthen and further develop each student’s skills in writing, arguing, and ultimately communicating with others. Part of that, of course, is creative -- as it takes a creative mind to argue from new points of view and perspective. Students can expect themselves to be challenged with advanced writing strategies, research, and a number of other English Language Arts activities. Course outline found here. |

DISCLAIMER: Education is an evolving practice, and therein, elements of our program such as grading criteria, units, and expectations will be subject to slight changes if the need arises. Furthermore, I am of the mindset that if someone is more knowledgeable, more talented, or has a better idea than I do, it's of far greater benefit to my students to use another teacher's material over my own. As a result, not all content that is listed under Lesson Plans and Organization are my own intellectual property, and are listed only for the benefit of student and parent access. I will do my best to make sure the proper creators are credited for their work, and I will be freely making adaptions/modifications as we go along. If there are any concerns, please contact me.
Also, Please Note! Our semester tends to get very busy, but it is still my goal to insure that all assignments and semester lessons are accessible for parents and students alike. If the website has not been updated within the past 7 days, feel free to send me an email and remind me. Thanks.
